Kevin Mitnik, a well known security expert, advised during a Citrix TV interview of a new software program called PSI (Personal Software Inspector) that allows you to check for non-Windows software updates on your computer. I checked on mine and got a Secunia System Score of 89%. My workstation needed 12 software updates to keep current with the latest versions of the software installed on my machine.(it included 3 different Java updates). The tool is relatively fast and non invasive, if you choose the option not to install the updates (which according to Secunia, it is not recommended)
Check it out if you want the “Windows Updates” of the non Windows Software on your worksation, here is the site: Secunia PSI
